Pratt Fine Arts Center Introduces New Executive Director, Jessica Borusky

SEATTLE, WA – Pratt Fine Arts Center welcomes Jessica Borusky (they/them) as Executive Director. Arts Consulting Group worked with Pratt to conduct a North American search for this position, and Jessica’s arrival on January 12, 2023 heralds the next phase of growth and development for Pratt as a vital contributor to the Pacific Northwest visual arts community.Describing their role at Pratt, Jessica said, “I am thrilled to expand Pratt’s mission of providing accessible arts education for all, while uplifting the incredible art practices of Pratt’s teaching staff and students. I look forward to learning from, and connecting with the Pratt, Seattle, and Pacific Northwest communities, including the awe-inspiring natural surroundings.“

Jessica's cultural leadership is grounded in community-building and equitable, accessible practices; they honor that the health of a community depends on representation and resources for diverse cultural practices to flourish and grow. Jessica believes that cultural engagement empowers a community to consider points of common interest that model new forms of collective life and activity. Through bridgebuilding and strategic connectivity, Jessica fosters vital, invitational cultural programming and education, and is ready to bring these skills to their role as Executive Director at Pratt.
Jessica received their MFA in Studio Art from Tufts University and School of the Museum of Fine Arts with a concentration in video, performance, and gender studies from the Women’s and Gender Studies Consortium at MIT. Jessica has worked for educational institutions, arts nonprofits, and civic organizations across the US, including Art in the Loop Foundation Kansas City, The University of Missouri Kansas City, Charlotte Street Foundation, Kansas City Arts Institute, Living Arts of Tulsa, Greenwood Art Project Tulsa, the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, Jacksonville Cultural Council, Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville, and the University of North Florida. Additionally, Jessica has written for Number Inc. Arts Journal, Informality Kansas City, Arbus Magazine, and Burnaway.
