Pratt Fine Arts Center Welcomes New Board of Trustees Member, Erika Dalya MassaquoiFor Immediate Release: March 12, 2013
SEATTLE, WA – Pratt Fine Arts Center is pleased to announce Erika Dalya Massaquoi as the newest member of its Board of Trustees. Massaquoi is an arts, culture and media professional with over a decade of executive leadership experience in both public and private sectors.
Having recently moved to Seattle from New York City, where she was the Assistant Dean of the School of Art & Design at The Fashion Institute of Technology, Massaquoi has become a fixture in the local arts community almost overnight. She is a welcome addition to Pratt’s Auction Committee and brings a wealth of enthusiasm and a fresh perspective to the team. In addition to joining the Board of Trustees at Pratt Fine Arts Center she is an active member of 4Culture’s Public Art Advisory Committee.
Massaquoi has taught classes on contemporary art, cinema, music, and emerging technologies at Yale University, New York University, and The New School for Social Research. As a curator, her work has been exhibited at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) List Visual Arts Center, the Studio Museum in Harlem, and the Spelman College Museum of Fine Arts. She has held curatorial positions at the Whitney Museum of American Art and the American Museum of the Moving Image. Erika received her Ph.D. from New York University and undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Chicago and served on the Board of Directors of The Feminist Press.
