Seattle, Wash., June 12th, 2017 – Pratt Fine Arts Center (www.pratt.org), a nonprofit serving over 3,900 students and 300 working artists annually, announced today its plans to celebrate its 40th anniversary with the temporary exhibition “Making our Mark: Art by Pratt Teaching Artists” at Bellevue Arts Museum.
The exhibition will showcase the work of current and former Pratt teaching artists. A call to submit art work has been issued and is open to these artists until July 2nd.
“Pratt Fine Arts Center’s 40th anniversary exhibition aims to celebrate the incredible range of artists who have shared their gifts with students in our studios throughout the years” said Steve Galatro, Pratt’s Executive Director. “Over a thousand teaching artists have taught at Pratt since its creation in 1976, so I have no doubt this exhibition will be the most impressive display of artistry our region has ever seen”.
The exhibition—scheduled to open in November 2017—will be curated by Michael W. Monroe, Director Emeritus of Bellevue Arts Museum and for over 25 years, the Curator-in-Charge of the Renwick Gallery at the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
“I am thrilled to be part of this remarkable exhibition” said Michael Monroe. “Pratt Fine Arts Center has been home to some of the finest artists in our region and I am confident that this will be an extraordinary demonstration of their collective talent” he added.
Pratt teaching artists, past and present, who are interested in participating should contact info@pratt.org to request details about the call for art.
